Small Groups

SMALL GROUPS are “big” at St. Andrew’s. Many of our adult members are active in a small group to experience deep personal Christian fellowship, support and care for one another. These groups grow in faith, do ministry together, explore and develop their spiritual gifts, build relationships.

Are you are feeling called to START YOUR OWN SMALL GROUP OR MINISTRY? Forming a small group or ministry doesn’t have to be “top down.”

Do you have an idea for a small group, or a Bible study, or a ministry in the community or within the church?

Many of our current adult Sunday School classes, ministries, and small groups have started because someone like you had an idea, found a few others who shared the idea and got started.

What is the Holy Spirit leading you to do? – A group that goes bicycling or kayaking, a group to go to Cuba on a mission trip, a group to go to a Montreat Worship Conference, a new ministry with neighbors in need? Teach English as a second language class?  A contemporary worship band, a Southeast Texas State Fair booth, a grief support group, …???

Take the initiative, provide the leadership, and cast the vision…

Bible Studies

St. Andrew’s Bible Studies are open to everyone who wants to know and understand more about Scripture.  Visitors are always welcome, you don’t have to be a church member to come.  We learn to understand His Word by using six different methods, we:  1) hear it   2) read it   3) study it   4) meditate on it  5) memorize it and 6) apply it

Current Bible Studies

Bible Study with Dr. Emmett Powers meets on Monday morning in the Parlor at 10:00 am. This is a very inter-active class that not only studies together, but also enjoys fellowship with each other and an occasional social event.  If you have children we can also arrange for the nursery, just call the church office.  Sign up in Event Registration under News & Events.

Tuesday Morning Men’s Bible Study meets every Tuesday morning at 6:00 am (yep, AM!) in the kitchen for breakfast and Bible study.  This is truly a unique group of dedicated men who really enjoy this time and study together.  They also sing and do ‘special request’ appearances at other events occasionally!

Wednesday Evening Bible Study meets on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm. This is a group of a dozen or more adults of all ages studying scripture together. A strong bond of friendships develop here as well as growth as disciples of Christ.     If you have questions or need directions, please call the church office at 892-8611.
